BREAKING: Microsoft says son of CEO Satya Nadella has died

Microsoft said Zain Nadella, son of Chief Executive Officer Satya and his wife Anu, died Monday morning, Bloomberg reported. 26-year-old Zain had been born with cerebral palsy. 

Microsoft told its executive staff in an email that Zain had passed away. The message asked executives to hold the family in their thoughts and prayers while giving them space to grieve privately. 

Satya Nadella is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of global software giant Microsoft.

Hyderabad-born Nadella was named CEO of Microsoft in February 2014. In June 2021, he was also named as the company's Chairman, an additional role in which he would lead the work to set the agenda for the board.
