Big Billion Days sale: More than 3 million smartphones sold within a day on Flipkart

Flipkart has sold more than 3 million smartphones in a single day during its ongoing the big billion days sale (TBBD). According to Flipkart, October 11 was the single biggest sales day in the history of Indian retail. "There have been a record 1 million users on the app at any given point during TBBD", Flipkart said. 

Flipkart has claimed that it has sold one million smartphones in an hour and more than three million in a sigle day. 

On October 10, One out of four TVs worldwide was bought on Flipkart, creating retail history on a never-before-seen scale in India, the company said.

It also said that on its webside, Google Home has overtaken Amazon's Alexa to become India’s largest smart speaker during the Big Billion Days sale.

The Oppo F9 Pro was launched in India for a price of Rs 23,990. But, as a part of the Big Billion Days sale, Flipkart is offering a discount of Rs 16,000, which brings down the effective price to Rs 7,990. Additionally, HDFC Bank credit and debit card users can get an extra 10 percent off as well. 

The Oppo F9 Pro features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor, paired with 6GB RAM. It includes an internal storage of 64GB which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

Running Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.2 on top, the device comes equipped with a dual rear camera set up – 16MP primary sensor along with a 2MP sensor. It also includes a 25MP front-facing camera. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, microUSB and 3.5mm headphone jack. A 3,500mAh battery completes the package.

 Amazon India also said that it was “significantly ahead of our plans” while Paytm Mall saw 50 million visitors as India’s online retail market gets on the fast growth pace.
