Sushant Singh Rajput death case: Film critic Rajeev Masand summoned by Mumbai Police

After being constantly called out by netizens and several celebrities, Mumbai Police have summoned film critic Rajeev Masand in relation with Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The renowned critic has been accused of writing multiple negative blind items on the late actor. Kangana Ranaut, Manoj Bajpayee and Apurva Asrani are among many celebs who bashed Masand for the same. As per reports, the critic will be questioned about these allegations by the cops. He has been called in for interrogation by Bandra police station.

Earlier, filmmaker-editor Apurva Asrani had tweeted against Rajeev Masand by writing, "Attacking soft targets like KRK, while keeping mum on the more powerful 'blind item' experts is sheer hypocrisy. KRK is vile, but at least has the guts to put his name to his opinions. Rajeev's blind items against #SushantSinghRajput are vicious & cowardly. Don't be selective."

While Manoj Bajpayee tweeted, "It is hypocrisy to selectively call out journalists who hurt innocent talents with slander. I am very upset to read the blind items by Rajeev Masand in your tweet & I support you in calling him out. But the effort to stop toxic people like KRK is genuine too. Let's stand united."

In relation with Sushant's case, Mumbai police have summoned and interrogated more than 30 people which include Mukesh Chhabra, Rhea Chakraborty, Sanjana Sanghi, Shanoo Sharma, Aditya Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali among others.

Recently, Kangana also claimed that she was summoned but she couldn't visit the police station as she is currently at her hometown in Manali.

Sushant died by suicide on June 14, 2020.
