Jackie Shroff roped in to play Salman Khan's daddy in 'Bharat'

After playing father to Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra in Brothers, Jackie Shroff is all set to essay a similar part in the Salman Khan-starrer Bharat. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial is an official Hindi adaptation of the Korean film Ode To My Father and will encompass a time period of around 63 years.

Jackie, who’s just nine years older than Salman, will play his on-screen daddy. Says a source, “It’s essentially a beautiful story of a father and son, so when Jackie was offered the film, he liked the script and gave his nod.” While the team is currently shooting in Mumbai, Jackie will join the crew later. “He will start shooting around end of September,” adds our source.
