1942: A Love Story starring Anil Kapoor as the lead with Manisha Koirala and Jackie Shroff gave us a memorable song ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ which featured Anil Kapoor dreaming about Manisha as the soft music played its charm on us.

This time around it is his daughter Sonam Kapoor along with Rajkummar Rao, featuring their relationship i.e. being ‘just friends’ and nothing more for sure! This time, the song ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ is a little painful but gives us hope for strong friendship.

Amidst this, we also see a bond developing between Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla, shots showing the beauty of Punjab and cute moments between Sonam and Rajkummar. Sung by Darshan Raval and Rochak Kohli, this rendition of the original track is enhanced with some sweet Punjabi words.

The trailer of this film directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Fox Star Studios released some time back and was widely appreciated for dealing with the sensitive topic of LGBTQI in India so beautifully. The movie also stars Abhishek Duhan, Seema Pahwa, Madhumalti and Brijendra Kala in pivotal roles.

It would be safe to say that the first song which they released now – the title track – has also dealt with the subject with as much sensitivity and beauty. The movie is slated to release on 1st February 2019, which is a week after Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Thackeray release and a week before Sushant Singh Rajput-Bhumi Pednekar starrer Sonchiriya release.
