Boney Kapoor breaks down at IFFI while talking about Sridevi: 'Seeing all my 4 children together gave me strength'

This year Bollywood lost one of its most beloved actresses, Sridevi. The actor’s sudden demise was a complete shock for the industry and her fans around the world. But the ones who had to suffer the most were her family members. The happiness of the Kapoor clan, who had just celebrated the marriage of Mohit Marwah, suddenly turned into a period of mourning.

Boney Kapoor and his two daughters Janhvi and Khushi took a long time to come to terms with the death of the most important person in their lives. Boney had a hard time accepting his wife’s absence. Four of his children were now left without their mothers. Arjun Kapoor- Anshula Kapoor’s mother and Boney's first wife passed away a few years ago, due to cancer.

While speaking at the International Film Festival of India in Goa alongwith Janhvi Kapoor, Boney Kapoor broke down when a question about Sridevi was asked. A reporter asked him about his 4 kids coming closer after Sridevi’s tragic demise and Boney couldn't hold back his tears. 

He said, “I was going through a phase where I didn’t know what was happening and the children coming together gave me a lot of strength to cope up with the situation we were facing. I couldn’t have asked for more. For a parent, children come first and seeing all my 4 children together was….kind of a balming effect after the tragedy."

On February 24, the actress was found dead in the bathtub of her hotel room in Dubai. After much speculations, the autopsy report later revealed the cause of death as accidental drowning.
