After a photo of Atlee, Shah Rukh Khan, and Thalapathy Vijay from the Jawan sets went viral, there were rumours that the South superstar has shot for his cameo in the film.
After delivering four successful films in Kollywood, filmmaker Atlee made his Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and the film has been breaking box office records since its release. The vigilante action thriller has already grossed Rs 735 crore worldwide in its nine days and is on its course to cross the Rs 1000 crore mark.
In a recent interview, Atlee shared his plans for the sequel Jawan 2 and also talked about why he didn't ask Thalapathy Vijay, with whom he has given three successive blockbusters - Theri, Mersal, and Bigil, for a cameo in Jawan, which was rumoured after a photo of Atlee, SRK, and Vijay went viral from the film's sets.
Talking to Pinkvilla, the director said, "Every film of mine has an open end but to date, I have never thought of doing a sequel to any of my films. For Jawan, if anything strong comes to me, I will make a part two. I have kept an open end and I can come up with a sequel now or later. But definitely will come up with a sequel to Jawan one day."
Jawan ends with Shah Rukh Khan's dual characters of father Vikram Rathore and son Azad talking about their next mission in the end credits after finishing Vijay Sethupathi's Kaali. It is also revealed then that the cop Sanjay Dutt, who makes an interesting cameo, has been working with Azad in his missions since the beginning.
Whe asked why Thalapathy Vijay is not seen in a cameo appearance in Jawan, Atlee replied, "There’s a reason why I didn’t ask a cameo from his (Vijay) end. I will write something for Shah Rukh sir and Vijay sir. Both of them have given best career arc in my life. Someday, I will crack a script for both of them and have them in a single movie."
The film's team hosted the Jawan success event in Mumbai on Friday, when the cast members including Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, and others shared their journey on how they came on board for Jawan and how they are feeling after its massive success.
