This man is first turbaned Sikh in US President's security team

A Sikh man has created history by becoming the first turbaned Sikh to be included into the security team of US President Donald Trump.

Anshdeep Singh Bhatia, who was born in Ludhiana and came to the United States at the turn of this century, became part of the force after rigorous training.

According to a Hindustan Times report, Singh was asked to change his look to be part of the security team. He refused to do so and ended up in a legal battle. The court ruled in his favour and he joined the force last week.

Anshdeep's family is originally from Kanpur and during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots moved to Ludhiana. 

Singh's grandfather Amreek Singh Bhatia was manager with Punjab and Sind Bank and took transfer to Ludhiana. His father who was into pharmaceutical business moved to the US in 2000 when Anshdeep was 10. He last lost his uncle and a close relative during the riots, and his father Devendra Singh suffered three bullet wounds as well.

Anshdeep's induction into this force has come up as a ray of hope for Sikh community which is facing an increasing number of racially motivated attacks. As per reports, in past few months three cases of racial attacks have been reported.
