Vijay Varma is one of the happiest actors today. His web shows 'Mirzapur 2' as well as 'A Suitable Boy' released earlier in the day. The actor has joined the 'Mirzapur' franchise, while he was also offered one of the much-awaited projects 'A Suitable Boy'.
The actor spoke about spending his lockdown, and how his professional life has been during the last seven-eight months. He has revealed about how it was a cakewalk choosing a project like 'Mirzapur 2'.
Here are some excerpts from the interview:
You are one of the newest entrants on Mirzapur. How does it feel to join the cult franchise?
I've never been so sure of of doing a project so it was a cakewalk and when it comes to me choosing to do it or not.
How was your lockdown?
I was stranded all alone in Bombay. And then as soon as there was a bit of a learning because I just don't know much much of the household chores that I had to figure life out by myself. And I have 24 hours with myself, which is something I have not had in the last few years since I was busy working. So that took a bit of a learning and stuff like sometimes it was fine at some times. But as soon as the lockdown open, I went home spend time in Hyderabad with my parents for a couple of months. Then I came back, I've been debating, I finished a lot of work during work and pending work, and keep going back and forth. So it's all good. As long as I'm allowed to go go out and meet my family and friends. I'm not complaining.
Do you see memes on your character, like Pankaj and Divyendu enjoyed with season 1?
That's already happening. So, sure, yeah.
While we see you in a scene with Divyendu Sharma in the trailer, did you also get the opportunity to work with Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal?
Yes, I was lucky to share screen space with some fabulous actor.
Did you know any of the actors from before?
Actually, yes. I know Ali, Shweta and others from before.
Both of your shows A Suitable Boy as well as Mirzapur 2 are releasing on the same day in India. While one has received praises from UK and Ireland, the other is one of the most-awaited. What is going to be your state of mind?
Yay! I'm going to be the happiest.
Could we say that 2020 has actually been a blessing for you, seeing that you worked in five films including Ghost Stories, Baaghi 3, Yaara as well as web shows like She, Mirzapur 2 and A Suitable Boy?
Yes, I think so. Of course I have also seen ups and downs, but touchwood I've been lucky professionally.
What's next for Vijay? Were you approached with any interesting offers during lockdown?
Yeah, a lot of scripts. In fact, I've been reading more scripts than ever through the course of the lockdown and carefully chosen them. Let's see how things pan out.
