Apple iPhone 15 production has been started in Foxconn’s Tamil Nadu plant ahead of launch next month. Apple iPhone 15 will be the vanilla model in Apple iPhone 15 series that is rumoured to launch on September 12. Just like previous years, Apple iPhone 15 series will comprise four models - Apple iPhone 15, Apple iPhone 15 Plus, Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max. As Apple aims to bridge the gap between India operations and China manufacturing, Foxconn India plant is gearing up to deliver the Apple iPhone 15 only weeks after they start shipping from China. The news of Apple iPhone 15 production in India comes days after Foxconn increased its investment in Telangana to $550 million.

To recall, Apple iPhone production in India started around 5 years ago with iPhone SE 2. Currently, the tech giant manufactures iPhone SE, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14 in India. As of March, Apple produced 7% of its iPhones in India and in the coming year, the company aims to significantly increase the share. The production will also depend on availability of components, which are largely imported.

Apple iPhone 15 is believed to get the biggest updates when it comes to features in the last three years. The Apple iPhone 15 is expected to get Dynamic Island just like the Apple iPhone 14 Pro models. It is also believed to get new Apple Watch Ultra like action button and USB-C port.
