England are determined to continue with sledging during the India tour with left arm-spinner Samit Patel insisting that it is being carried on from the series back home.

The spinner said he is loving the fact that they are trying to take the Indians out of their comfort zones at home by sledging.

Both Jonathan Trott and Jade Dernbach were being spoken to by the umpires during Monday’s second One-day International in Delhi Monday. Trott was reprimanded after getting stuck into Virat Kohli, while Dernbach was involved in a prolonged feud with Gautam Gambhir towards the end of India's eight-wicket victory.

"England teams who have come out here in the past have taken a backward step," the Daily Mail quoted Patel as saying.

"No one likes to target India in India because of the crowds and our guys would like to do that. I actually love the fact that the guys are taking it to them and trying to get them out of their comfort zones.

"The Indians love to give it out, so they can take a bit back. It’s carried on from the series back home. Guys don’t forget and I’m sure they had a bit of stick from us. We beat them 3-0 in England, and I don’t think they were particularly happy with the way they played," Patel said.

England trail the five match series 0-2 and will be looking to stay afloat when the teams square off in Mohali Thursday.

"We’ve not played to our potential, which is quite difficult to take, knowing we’ve smashed India at home. But we’re not a million miles away," Patel said.
