Social media has exploded appreciating France’s Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris for his incredible save which he made just before the half-time, denying Uruguay an equalizer.

 

Uruguay won a free-kick far out from the French goal post. The ball was shot into the mixer, Uruguay’s Martin Caceres collected it smoothly before he delivered a superb header towards the bottom left corner.

 

 

However, French captain and goolie Lloris dived to his right and managed to keep the ball away with his strong hand. He wasted no time recovering as he also denied Stuani a goal, who shot from a very close range on the follow up.

Uruguayans tried everything possible in desperation in the first half post France’s goal in the 40th minute.

Earlier, when France earned a free-kick which and their main man Antoine Griezmann took it. With a great run up, he shot the ball into the penalty area where his teammate Raphael Varane also made a run, got the flick and shot the ball past Uruguayan Fernando Muslera and inside the far post to give France a terrific 1-0 lead in the quarter-final match on Friday.
