In 5 days, PCMC removes 123 flexes, 30 hoardings

Intensifying its drive in the twin town, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) officials took action against 123 unauthorised flexes and 30 hoardings in its four zonal wards between February 4 and 8. The PCMC has been carrying a special drive against illegal hoardings over the last one month.

In its latest drive, the PCMC administration collected nearly Rs12,000 fine from those responsible for putting hoardings and flexes.

PCMC Commissioner Dr Shrikar Pardeshi had earlier given an order to file criminal cases against such persons and organisations. The orders were conveyed to the civic staff recently and the drive against illegal flexes and hoardings intensified thereafter.

The civic chief had given power to respective ward officers of four zones in this regard. The PCMC administration had appealed to the citizens to not put any kind of boards, hoardings and flexes without prior permission from them.

The PCMC has removed almost 550 illegal flexes and hoardings till February 8.
