School teacher crushed under chemical tanker

A 32-year-old teacher from Boisar was allegedly crushed under a moving tanker after she applied sudden brakes on the two-wheeler she was riding on to avoid collision with a car.

Mayuri Patil (32), a teacher with Adhikari English School, had applied sudden brakes near Mann village when a car came out of a steel company without any indication.

"As soon as Patil applied brakes, she was hit on the rear by a chemical-ladden tanker," said a Boisar MIDC police officer.

"The driver of the tanker is absconding and we have booked him under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code. Further investigations are on," said the officer.
