MUMBAI: A local court on Wednesday proclaimed as an absconder, suspended additional chief secretary Ashok Khot who is evading arrest after being sentenced to a month's jail term by the Supreme Court in a contempt case.
The Mumbai police moved a local court requesting that Khot be declared an absconder.
Mumbai Police Commissioner A N Roy said the court had declared Khot a ‘proclaimed absconder'.
"This decision will help us convey information about Khot to police units across the country and get their help in arresting Khot," Roy said.
