College life is the time when you are slowly discovering oneself — from one’s personal style to one’s taste in things — it could be junk jewellery or a kitsch backpack.  Do the millenials shop online or pick up a vintage find at a lesser-known, secluded boutique or it’s a spur of the moment thing? Perhaps it’s a mix of all of this and much more. We got in touch with some college students who shared their personal aesthetic, spoke at length about their pin-up icons and also let us in on the coolest shopping haunts. Over to the cool campus kids...

  • Best places for budget-buys
Westside, Forever21, AND and Reliance Trends.

  • Best areas for fun jewellery and accessories
    Claire’s, Accessorize.

  • Style to me is…
Knowing and being who you are. You are not more smart/pretty just because you are wearing a designer.

  • My style icon and why...
Definitely Ashley Graham because she’s a living example that style/fashion doesn’t have to be in a specific size and she inspires people to love their body.

  • On my wishlist
A pair of stilettos I saw at Charles and Keith the other day. The list could go on and on to be honest.

Yashvi Panjabi, 19

  • Best places for budget-buys
Linking road, Hill Road and Irla.

  • Best areas for fun jewellery and accessories
    Bandra.

  • Style to me is…
Being confident and comfortable in what you wear, and how you carry yourself.

  • My style icon is…
My own mind because it’s not just the fashion trend but my choice that matters for me to represent myself.

  • On my wishlist
I am a fan of dark toned short dresses and you can’t have too many in your wardrobe! So, they’re always on my wishlist. The same goes for rings.

Chinmayee Gadre, 18

    A lot about personality.

  • My style icon and why...
My favourite style icon is Ashley Graham because she’s not only a fashion icon but she’s also a sports activist. She’s not the kind of stereotyped model who’s skinny. She’s healthy.

    Kylie Jenner lip kit.

My brother Sanket because he knows the right thing I need to wear before I step out of the house and I can blindly trust him when it comes to fashion.

  • On my wishlist
Vero Moda black sequinned bomber jacket.

Vithika Chawla, 19

  • Style to me is...
Dressing up to the mark, following the trends in my way.
