The only woman to become World Amateur Boxing champion for a record six times, and the only woman boxer to have won a medal in each one of the seven world championships, Padma Bhushan, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna awardee, MC Mary Kom on Sunday visited the education hub, Kota.

The event was organised by ALLEN Career Institute, Kota at ALLEN Samyak. Mary Kom motivated the students and female employees of ALLEN. She said that talent is not related to wealth. Hard work and dedication is the key to success. India is a country of youth. If every youth dreams big and work hard to achieve it, then the country will change. During the occasion, the Additional District Collector (Administration) Sunita Daga welcomed Mary Kom. This was followed by a traditional dance performance by the students.

Mary Kom answered several questions asked by the audience while answering them, she said, Losing and winning is part of life. I play for my country and feel proud when I represent my nation internationally.

Sometimes I lose the match; losing does not demotivate me, I learn from weakness and try to overcome it in the future. Students should not get discouraged from losing; rather, they should try to earn something from it.

Mary Kom said that there is no good and bad coach. You will definitely learn something from both. In her initial journey, her coach was not a national level player but she learned the basics from him which made her foundation strong. Likewise, a student should have the basics clear, to build a strong foundation. During the event, Mary Kom sang a Bollywood song and wished for the bright future of all the students.

She motivated them to work hard, hope for the best and prepare for the worst situations. She asked students to love life and also guided them to follow their mission and achieve their goal.
