The latest weather report from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) provides a comprehensive overview of the prevailing atmospheric conditions across various regions of India. As of August 11, 2023, the weather patterns are influenced by multiple factors, resulting in diverse conditions across the nation.

In the northern region, a cyclonic circulation over northeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar, along with a trough extending from east Bihar to the Northwest Bay of Bengal, has triggered varying levels of rainfall. The Monsoon Trough, which typically lies south of the Himalayan foothills, has shifted northward. It's anticipated to remain in this position for the next few days, gradually shifting southward thereafter.

Northwest India is anticipated to experience scattered to fairly widespread rainfall, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall predicted for states such as Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, a Western Disturbance in the middle tropospheric westerlies is expected to bring isolated heavy rainfall to several regions.

In the east, states like Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall. Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, and other regions may experience isolated heavy rainfall, potentially causing localized flooding and disruptions.

The northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and others are forecasted to receive widespread rainfall, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over certain areas. Similar weather conditions are predicted for states like Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

Central, western, and southern parts of India are expected to experience isolated to scattered rainfall, with Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and Mahe receiving isolated heavy rainfall. Additionally, Coastal Andhra Pradesh is likely to experience hot and humid conditions for the next two days.

Temperature-wise, many regions are witnessing departures from normal levels. Minimum temperatures are notably above normal in several places like East Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, and Mahe. Conversely, maximum temperatures are appreciably above normal in Vidarbha, North Interior Karnataka, and Chhattisgarh. Some areas, such as Himachal Pradesh and Bihar, are experiencing below-normal maximum temperatures.
