Amid the ongoing political slugfest with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut has said that the party is also in touch with MLAs from other parties.

It may be noted that a few BJP office-bearers have already claimed that they have secured the support of "all the Independents," including the few rebels.

Targeting the BJP, he said that the Shiv Sena is also in touch with MLAs from Congress, NCP, and BJP further adding that party chief Uddhav Thackeray said it during the legislative meeting attended by party leaders on Thursday.

Uddhav attended a meeting of newly-elected MLAs of his party and said that they should not believe in rumours. He said that the party hasn't received a proposal from any political party yet, adding that some parties are approaching it through media.

Thackeray reiterated that discussions over the 50:50 formula were held between him and Union Home Minister & BJP President Amit Shah. He said that Shah had agreed to the formula and he should now fulfil his promise.

During the meeting, Sena's Eknath Shinde was elected as legislative party leader on the recommendation of Aditya Thackeray. Shinde is currently the PWD Minister in the state government.

Earlier in the day, Raut had also said that the party will not step back from its stand on the 50:50 formula for government formation. "If anyone has gone back on their promise, it is our ally. We will continue to move forward with our demand", he was quoted by news agency ANI.

Meanwhile, BJP which is facing an uphill task of bringing back Sena to the talking table, is planning to propose a new power-sharing arrangement with offers of the deputy chief minister's post and more ministerial berths.

BJP sources said it will keep Home, Urban Development and Revenue departments with it and can increase the number of Shiv Sena ministers to 14 from the current 12.

Besides, the BJP may also offer the Shiv Sena one more ministerial berth at the Centre, most likely at the Minister of State (MoS) level.
