Two persons were reported dead and six injured due to a gas leak in a drugs-manufacturing unit in Indore. The incident took place in the wee hours of Sunday, inside a diabetes drugs manufacturing factory named Riny Life.

Around 1am, the temperature suddenly shot up in one of the units and the safety valve breached. The gas started coming out and filling the chamber where night shift employees were working. But, before the workers could realise what was happening, the gas filled the entire unit.

Two of them ran towards the reactor unit to save their colleagues but got suffocated and fell on the ground. The duo were taken to hospital where they were declared brought-dead. The injured are admitted to the ICCU. The police have registered a case against the factory owner, Rakesh Chordia, and its manager, Jatashankar Dube. The unit has been sealed.
