PM Modi in Greece: First visit by Indian PM in 40 years, check complete itinerary

After successfully concluding his "very productive" visit to South Africa at the BRICS Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to reach Greece for a one-day visit on Friday. This is the first visit of an Indian prime minister to Greece in 40 years. 

PM Modi will visit Athens on Friday at the invitation of his Greek counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

PM Modi's visit to Athens assumed significance as it would be the first prime ministerial visit from India since Prime Minister Indira Gandhi visited Greece in September 1983.

Speaking about the same, India’s Ambassador to Greece Rudrendra Tandon said that this visit will give a “new impetus" to their close bilateral relationship in several areas like trade, security, and people-to-people contact.

6:25 am (local time): PM Modi will arrive at the Athens International Airport 

10:05 am: PM Modi will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Guard of Honour.

10:25 am: PM Modi will receive a ceremonial reception and will hold a meeting with Greece President Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

11:05 am: PM Modi will meet up with the PM of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

12:45 pm: PM Modi will attend a business lunch hosted by the Greek PM.

5:20 pm: PM Modi will meet eminent personalities.

6:05 pm: PM Modi will interact with the Indian community in Greece.
