Party on-board Goa's Santa Monica this Christmas

Tourists in Goa can now party hard in the middle of the river for Christmas and New Year with the state-run tourism corporation offering parties on boats.

Goa Tourism Development corporation (GTDC) has announced parties on-board Santa Monica, a ship that cruises in River Mandovi alongside Panaji city.

"Goa is already famous for Christmas and New Year celebrations but we want to give added attraction to the visitors. We want to make them feel special," GTDC managing director Nikhil Desai said.

"We have worked towards creating a wonderful experience for our visitors onboard the Santa Monica boat so that they are able to spend a lovely evening with family and friends and make their visit to Goa memorable in every way," he said.

The corporation runs chain of hotels in the state and also has various facilities catering to the tourists, basically domestic guests.

A senior GTDC official said that the guests would be given an experience of celebrating gala party beneath the twinkling stars on a cool December night.

As the ship would cruise along River Mandovi, various live entertainments would be planned for the guests.

State tourism director Swapnil Naik said that Goa has already been labeled as a favourite party destination. "Such kind of attractions will provide more value for the party revelers," he said adding that lakhs of people jam streets of Goa for the festivities that will continue till first week of January.
