One sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment in Orissa

A Sundergarh district court today sentenced a man to five years rigorous imprisonment for attempting to kill another man.
 
The special district sessions judge, Sundargarh, Bharathi Banda convicted Md. Tahit and sentenced him to five years rigorous imprisonment for attempting to kill Balladev on
September 15, 2003.The court fined Balladev Rs1000, in lieu three months additional imprisonment.
 
According to the prosecution, Tahit had attacked another man, Baladev, of Banadega villager under Talasara police station in Sundargarh district on September 15, 2003 with a sharp weapon and left him critically injured.
