After Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin made remarks regarding the “eradication of Sanatan Dharma” from the country, the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) came forward with an attack against the Opposition, this time hitting out at Congress.

In a major retaliation against the INDIA alliance, the BJP decided to attack Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge in the ‘Sanatan Dharma’ row, pulling out an old speech by the senior party leader, alleging that the grand old party has a problem with the ‘sanatan’ followings.

In the old video shared by the ruling BJP, Congress chief Kharge could be heard saying that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi is re-elected, it will lead to the rule of the ‘Sanatan Dharma’ and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the country.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla shared the old clip of Kharge on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Not just Udaynidhi Stalin but it is also the Congress that has a problem with Sanatan Here is what Kharge ji had said! Clearly, Abolition & termination of Sanatan is an agenda of the INDI alliance as a whole No wonder Uddhav & Rahul have not condemned the statement yet.”

This comes just days after a major row was sparked when MK Stalin’s son and senior DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin made certain remarks regarding the ‘Sanatan Dharma’, saying that it needs to be “eradicated and abolished” from the country.

As quoted by ANI, MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi said, “Few things cannot be opposed, that should be abolished only. We can't oppose dengue, mosquitoes, malaria or corona. We have to eradicate this. That's how we have to eradicate Sanatana.”

After major backlash, the DMK leader also backed his statements on social media, saying that Sanatan Dharma is a “principle that divided people in the name of caste and religion”. Challenging any legal action against him, Udhayanidhi said that he will continue to work towards its eradication.
