Improvised Explosive Device detected and defused on J&K highway

Security forces defused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said here today.
   
Troops of Rashtriya Rifle detected the IED planted by the militants at Wagan near Banihal, about 200 kms from here, in Ramban district last evening, they said.

Traffic was immediately suspended in the area and a bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot. The IED was later defused, they said.
