The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday conducted raids at the residence of senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Sanjay Singh. ED raids are underway at the residence of Singh in connection with excise policy case, news agency ANI reported citing sources.

The raids come months after Sanjay Singh alleged in a letter to Finance Secretary TV Somanathan back in May this year that the ED Director and Assistant Director deliberately linked his name to the alleged liquor scam without any basis, tarnishing his public image and defaming him.

The MP had said that his name had been added based on statements from Dinesh Arora. He had also accused the officers of misusing their position tarnishing his public image. Singh demanded prosecution against the officers. He had mentioned that he had already sent a legal notice to the officers asking them to issue an open and public apology.

Singh's name reportedly appears four times in the ED charge sheet out of which one reference was incorrect and typed inadvertently, ANI reported citing ED sources. In one place, the MP's name was mentioned in place of then excise commissioner Rahul Singh.

This is a developing story. More details will be updated.
