A case has been registered against an officer of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike's (BBMP) Technical Vigilance Cell under Commissioner (TVCC) for trespassing into the property of Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) chief RP Sharma at Doddagubbi on Monday.
The case has been registered at Kothanur police station. The TVCC officer was reportedly investigating Sharma’s property for violation of building bye-laws. In the complaint, it was mentioned that two persons visited the place and told the people working there that they were investigating the building for violation.
The police, during their investigating, traced driver Md Mustafa Shareef, who revealed that the vehicle was hired by BBMP executive engineer Anwar Pasha and Channakeshava. During their interrogation, they said they had been directed by chief secretary SV Ranganath in a letter to probe the allegations of building bye-laws’ violation. The chief secretary too had sent a letter to the BDA for investigation.
It was learnt that the chief secretary’s direction to the BBMP and the BDA was based on chief vigilance commission’s letter dated March 28, 2012, which asked the state government to look into the allegations made by one SM Alex.
The Kothanur police seized the vehicle and registered cases against Pasha and Channakeshava.
