Sachin-Jigar have moved on to their next project after Badlapur. But this isn’t a film we’re talking about. The popular composers are instead ready with their three tracks, due for release on April 12, for Season 4 of MTV’s Coke Studio.

Interestingly, the show, which began its latest season with Amit Trivedi’s Teriyaa Tu Jaane, was to just showcase a track a month as part of its reinvention strategy. But in the latest development, three tracks will be released at the same time.
Each song tells a story and features a wide range of singers. Jigar Saraiya talked us through the idea behind the songs and who’s going to be singing.

Here’s what he shared...

Saavan
About a heartbroken girl. But she isn’t crying over it. In fact, she’s stronger because of it. It’s all about her aggression and outburst. Based on a thumri, features voice talents of Divya Kumar (of Jee Karda fame) and Jasmine Sandlas (of Yaar Na Miley fame). Lyrics by Mayur Puri.

Baanedo
About a husband-wife relationship in the early years during their process of discovery and are still trying to break the ice between them. It’s a very modern track, yet very folksy in nature. Features Tochi Raina and Bhutte Khan, a folk group group from Rajasthan. Lyrics by Priya Saraiya.

Ladki
This song is about a father-daughter relationship and how it’s the purest form of love. It features as singers Baby Tanishkaa, Rekha Bhardwaj and Kirtidan Gadhvi, a folk singer from Gujarat. Lyrics are by Priya Saraiya.
