In an interview to IANS, Marriette A. Therattil, Principal of Vimala College in Thrissur said that she learnt about how her 18-year-old student has became a "national trend" on social media and even wants to meet her. She said, "It was on Monday that I came to know about what was happening on social media about my student. I came to know it very late in the evening as I was busy with meetings. Since it was late and the students had all gone home, I could not meet her."
Priya Prakash Varrier's college principal even revealed that she sent a congratulatory message to the Internet sensation but didn't get any reply. "I did send her a congratulatory message but did not get a reply. I can understand that she is busy. Today I asked to find out if she has come to college, but I was told she is on leave today," said Therattil.
Priya is first year B.Com student and among 2,500-odd women students in the college. Her principal remembers how her parents had come to her to seek permission to shoot for the song that has made her an overnight star. "Since attendance is strict and a must, I told them that they should see that she should not miss classes and gave her the permission (to shoot). Honestly, I never knew that she would rise to this sort of instant stardom, and I am waiting to see her," she added.
Internet sensation and Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier has big dreams and one of them is about working in Bollywood. "I am still unsure of how to handle the fame,” she told the channel. Talking about that moment which has become a viral sensation, Varrier revealed that the scene was actually an improvisation on her part. "He (director Omar Lulu) asked me to do something cute and basically improvise. The wink was not pre-decided,” Varrier told the channel.
