Actor Vinod Kumar (alias Vinod Alva), who is known for his roles in Telugu films like Police Brothers, Seetharathnamgari Abbayi and Karthavyam, was arrested by police in Puttur on Tuesday. He was held in connection with an attempt to murder case of Sachchithananda, his former manager who handled his financial affairs.

Sachchithananda left his job on 7 March this year and allegedly filed a case against Vinod Kumar, seeking remuneration for the services rendered. On failing to pay the amount, the actor along with his close aide Uday Chikkittaya, planned to kill Sachchithananda. Following the complaint, both the actor and his friend were arrested by the cops in Puttur. A case has been registered against Vinod Kumar and Uday Chikkittaya at Puttur Police Station under IPC sections 120 P (Criminal Conspiracy) and 307 (Attempt To Murder).
