Shah Rukh Khan's latest release Raees has already entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club. While SRK's performance in the movie has been applauded by one and all, it would be quite unfair to acknowledge the other fantastic performances in the film by Mahira Khan, Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub and the show stealer Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
But did you know that there's a special reason behind casting these 3 amazing actors along with Shah Rukh Khan in the film? While Mahira Khan has made her Bollywood debut with Raees, both Nawazuddin and Zeeshan also haven't worked with Shah Rukh in any film before.
While interacting with the media during the promotions, Shah Rukh Khan revealed why these actors who haven't worked with him before, were chosen to do Raees. "They all come from a more real world of acting. They've done cinema which is not as popular as I've done perhaps and they will Insha Allah. But so far they haven't. So they come from a very real zone...They feel the scenes, they talk about it, they discuss it and for me to play Raees, because I'm not playing hero type, I'm playing a character, so it was very important to be surrounded people or enact with people who approach the scene very realistically. That is one of the reasons actually why we wanted all new people who haven't acted with me before," explained Shah Rukh.
He further added, "So I think Mahira and Zeeshan and Nawaz, to a large extent, (and we have lots of scenes together) when they are doing the scenes with me, and I'm experienced enough to understand this, that they approach the scene very differently from what I'm used to. So when they approach the scene and they did a scene, my own way of going into that scene changed. So it was really wonderful."
"We all worked more or less on one set - huge set,working together every night every day. It was very nice to have actors who sit down, rehearse, work out new things and I think their realism reflected in my performance," he signed off.
