Lindsay Lohan's dad asks her to stop smoking

Lindsay Lohan's estranged father has launched a desperate attempt to stop his troubled daughter from smoking while she is struggling to give up drugs in court-ordered rehab.

Michael Lohan has been banned from visiting his daughter at the Betty Ford Clinic in Rancho Mirage, California but that hasn't stopped him from trying to get his anti-smoking message across, Contactmusic reported.

According to reports he has sent his daughter an electric smokeless cigarette as part of a care package and hopes that the Mean Girls star will at least try the device which would trigger a decision to quit smoking for good.

The care package sent to the 24-year-old actress also reportedly contained over $8,000 worth of clothing.
