CBSE Class 10, 12 board exams 2021: Latest updates on exam centres students must know

To ensure social distancing during the Class 10 and Class board exams, the Central Board of Secondary Education has increased the number of examination centres across India and abroad. This comes amid the demand from students to cancel the board exams in wake of the rising cases of COVID-19 in India.

The board has added as many as 2,500 more centres to conduct Class 10 and 12 board exams.

Notably, amid the second wave of COVID-19 in India, several students of CBSE class 10 and 12 have signed petitions requesting the Modi government to either cancel CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021 or conduct them in online mode.

The hashtag "cancelboardexams2021" has been trending on Twitter for the last two days.

However, CBSE has made it clear that students will not face any trouble in appearing for the CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021 as all COVID-19 guidelines will be followed during the exams.

A senior CBSE official said that the Board is making adequate arrangements to ensure the safety of students. The official added that it has been decided to increase the number of exam centres by 40-50 per cent to ensure social distancing and all; staff at exam centres is being sensitised to follow COVID-19 guidelines.

About 3.4 lakh students are likely to take the board exams this year.
