Man arrested for sexually abusing 7-year-old girl

The police arrested a man named Sipu, 22, on Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl in Sanjay Colony.

According to the police, both the accused and the victim live in the same locality. The girl was playing near her house on Wednesday when Sipu called her and took her to a corner. He allegedly abused her sexually. The same thing was repeated on Thursday as well. The accused had assaulted the minor repeatedly for two days.

Finally, the girl told her mother about the incident on Friday, after which the FIR was registered at Sector 14 Police Station.

The accused has lived in Sanjay Colony for the past seven years. He is originally from Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh. In Gurugram, Sipu used to work at a furniture shop in Sanjay Colony.

An FIR has been registered against the accused under sections 4 and 8 of the POCSO Act.

“The accused has confessed. He has been produced in court on Saturday. The Magistrate has remanded him in judicial custody for two weeks,” said ASI Anil Kumar, investigating officer.​
