Two tests were done; one was negative, other was positive, says Wriddhiman Saha

Team India and Sunrisers Hyderabad wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha took to Twitter to inform that he is recovering and is much better after testing positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, May 4. There were reports of him testing positive for the second time after completing his mandatory 14-day quarantine, however, Saha clarified what exactly took place.

Saha said that as part of a routine check-up, he underwent a couple of tests for COVID-19 out of which one test came back negative, while the second came out positive and requested everyone to report only after the context and not spread misleading information.

"My quarantine period is still not over. As a part of the routine check up, 2 tests were done, out of which 1 was negative and the other one came as positive. Otherwise, I am doing much better. Requesting everyone not to spread misleading stories/information without the whole context," Saha wrote in a statement issued on Twitter on Friday.

Saha was one of the members out of many, who tested positive for COVID inside the IPL bio-bubble. While he was the only player from the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) camp, he was the sixth person in the bubble after Kolkata Knight Riders' duo of Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier and Chennai Super Kings' Laxmipathy Balaji, Michael Hussey and one of their bus drivers, who tested positive for COVID-19.

Later, the 2021 edition of the IPL was suspended due to the increasing number of cases in the bio-bubble and the BCCI has clarified time and again that it has been postponed and not been cancelled.
