Sitansu Kotak, a former Saurashtra veteran and India A head coach, has been appointed as the head coach for the Indian squad during the upcoming three T20Is in Ireland, which will take place from August 18 to 23.

The decision to rest head coach Rahul Dravid, along with his staff including batting coach Vikram Rathour and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, has been made in light of the upcoming Asia Cup and ODI World Cup later this year.

Initially, it was planned for VVS Laxman, the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), to take on the role of interim head coach, as he did last year against Ireland. However, Laxman has chosen to remain in Bengaluru for the Emerging camp.

As a result, the opportunity has arisen for Sitanshu Kotak, the batting coach at the NCA, to step in and fill the role while Dravid and his team take a well-deserved break. Kotak brings valuable experience to the table, having already served as the head coach for the A-sides for a couple of years.

Arguably, one of the most significant reliefs for the Indian cricket team was the return of Jasprit Bumrah. After being sidelined due to injury for nearly a year, Bumrah's fitness clearance came just in time for the crucial three-month period ahead, which includes the One Day Internationals (ODIs). In fact, his return was so significant that he was named the captain for the T20Is against Ireland.

Bumrah's absence has been sorely felt by the team, and his comeback couldn't have been timed better. With the ODIs on the horizon, his presence will undoubtedly boost Team India's chances. However, it's not just Bumrah who has caught the attention of the Men in Blue. Prasidh Krishna, another talented bowler, has also emerged as a potential backup option for the team, and his progress is being closely monitored.

The Asia Cup looms ahead, and the Indian team is keen on ensuring they have a strong and reliable bowling lineup. Bumrah's return has provided a much-needed boost, and Krishna's promising performances have put him in contention as a backup option. The Men in Blue are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for success, and the inclusion of these two talented bowlers only strengthens their chances.
