The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly has expressed his thoughts over the role that he acquired since taking over.

The former Team India skipper spoke about how he wants to work with players to try and influence the game from the position he is in right now.

"I am fortunate to be the president of BCCI. It’s another opportunity to work with players and try and influence the game from that position," Sourav Ganguly was quoted as saying by multiple outlets.

"I will always be a player’s person. I know their emotions," he added.

For a long time, rumours have been going around that Ganguly is in contention to replace Manohar as the next International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman but the former cricketer refused to address those rumours.

"I keep it simple. I give my best in whatever I do. Knowingly (or otherwise) I have been pushed into different roles. My method is simple. I approach things, the way I know it best,” he said.

Ganguly then went to add how he believes that India will keep producing quality young talent and said: "Indian cricket is in great hands. When Gavaskar finished, we had Tendulkar, Dravid, now Kohli has come. India will always produce champion players."

"It’s like football in Brazil. You never know, where talent comes from. It’s the passion boys and girls have here. We will always be a strong cricket country and continue to dominate," he added.

The coronavirus outbreak brought most sports activities to a halt with players practising social distancing and self-isolation during the pandemic.
