Road ministry seeks Rs3.4k crore from finmin for repairs

The ministry of road transport and highways has sought Rs3,400 crore from the finance ministry as supplementary demand for grants to repair damaged roads.

Transport secretary RS Gujral said that Rs1,000 crore has been sought for the overall maintenance and Rs1,650 for
national highways other than those covered under National Highways Development Project.

Further, Rs700 crore has been sought from the central roads fund and Rs50 crore for repair of bridges.
