Dholakia's grandson, Ruvin Dholakia, had returned from America after completing his education. Since Savji Dholakia wanted his grandson to learn the hardships they face on a daily basis, he sent him to Chennai. Savji Dholakia thought that experiences can make a better teacher than any management school.

Ruvin Dholakia was ordered to not use his phone. He was paid Rs 6000 for any potential exigency.

Dholakia first worked in a garment shop as a salesman for 9 days. He worked for 8 days at an eatery. For the remaining 9 days, he worked at a watch outlet. He also worked as a labourer for two days.

He was asked to work in Chennai for just Rs 200 per day. He was also rejected 200 times. He also earned a tip of Rs 27. He earned Rs 8,600.

Ruvin Dholakia's grandfather was Savjibhai's brother.

Dholakia was born in a farmer's family in Amerli. He dropped out of studies at the age of 13. He joined his uncle's diamond business in Surat. His brothers also joined the business. Together, they launched their own diamond business in 1984.

By the year 2014, they had 6500 employees.

He was awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2022.

Dholakia is in news every year for providing expensive gifts to his employees. He once gifted 400 flats and 1260 cars as Diwali bonus to his workers.

Every year, he distributes more than Rs 50 crore worth of incentives to his workers.

He distributes cars every year. He also gifts fixed deposits to employees as Diwali bonus.

These expensive things are gifted to recognise workers who meet their targets. They also provide jewellery.

"Buying the first car is a big moment in anyone's life. Getting it as an incentive inspires my employees to perform better. Their lifestyle improves, their families are happy. This benefits the company too," Dholakia had once said.
