Shamsheer Vayalil is an Indian billionaire businessman and radiologist. He is the founder and chairman of Burjeel Holdings, a private healthcare services provider in the UAE. The company has Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan as its brand ambassador.

Vayalil is the son-in-law of Gulf retailing billionaire MA Yusuff Ali, India's second-richest billionaire in the retail sector. According to Forbes, Ali has a real-time net worth of Rs 49,850 crore as of September 16.

Vayalil was born into a business family in Kerala. He shifted to the Middle East after his medical studies. He worked as a radiologist at a local hospital there. He was initially backed by his father-in-law and started with one hospital in Abu Dhabi in 2007. The 46-year-old now has 39 hospitals and medical centers across the UAE and Oman.

According to Forbes, Vayalil has a real-time net worth of Rs 27,410 crore, as of September 16. He holds an MBBS degree from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. Vayalil did his MD in radiology at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Chennai. He did his radiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.

He was a radiologist for 12 months at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE. In 2007, he opened his first hospital -- LLH Hospital in Abu Dhabi. Vayalil is also vice-chairman and managing director of investment firm Amanat Holdings, in which he has a minority stake. He also has a stake in Response Plus Holdings, a provider of medical services.
