Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's younger sister and actor Shamita Shetty is lucky as she will get to experience the aura of Bigg Boss for the third time. Shamita was a part of 'Bigg Boss 3' but quit midway to attend Shilpa's wedding with businessman Raj Kundra. And in July this year, she became a participant in 'Bigg Boss OTT' at a time when her family was going through a tough phase following the arrest of her brother-in-law Raj Kundra in a pornography case. Before entering the 'Bigg Boss 15' house, Shamita Shetty spoke about the circumstances in which she decided to be a part of 'Bigg Boss OTT' and how it affected her.

It was at a time when Raj Kundra was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in a pornography racket that Shamita had started her journey in 'Bigg Boss OTT'. When asked about the 'personal crisis' that the family was facing when she decided to participate in the show, Shamita told Bollywood Bubble, "It was very difficult for me the first time around, because the situation was very different. I was unfortunately being heavily trolled for no fault of mine. My family also, at that point in time, felt that it's better for me to just lock myself in that house. And also it was a previous commitment, and I didn't want to back off because of everything that happened. I wanted to stick to my word and continue. As they say, 'The show must go on'."

"Honestly, at this time, people have been sitting at home with no work; they've lost work. And I'm being paid to sit in a house, why would I say no?" Shamita added.

As for Raj Kundra, after spending over two months in prison, the businessman walked out after a Mumbai court granted him bail on September 20. The Mumbai court granted him bail on a surety of Rs 50,000. The court has also granted bail to Kundra's associate Ryan Thorpe who was also required to furnish a surety of Rs 50,000. Earlier, the Property Cell of Mumbai Crime Branch submitted a 1500-page supplementary charge sheet before Esplanade Court in connection with the pornography case against businessman Kundra.

Raj was arrested by police on July 19 along with 11 other people on charges related to the alleged creation of pornographic films. Kundra is booked under Indian Penal Code Sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292, and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays), and relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
