An old video from 2013 is going viral when Shah Rukh Khan 'said' that he would take Nayanthara to Bollywood with Atlee enjoying the actor's banter. 10 years later, Atlee has cast SRK and Nayanthara together in Jawan.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles, Jawan is one of the most awaited films since its announcement as it brings together the super stardom of SRK and the masala action of South films together in what seems like a deadly combination, as suggested by its prevue.
Now, ahead of the Jawan trailer release, an old video from the 7th Vijay Awards held in 2013 is going viral on the internet. In the awards ceremony, hosted by Gopinath and R. Madhavan, Shah Rukh Khan was presented with the Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan Award for Excellence in Indian Cinema.
During the 2013 awards show, when Nayanthara came on the stage to present an award, the host said that she is a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan, who was seated in the audience. The Pathaan actor gestured that he plans to take the Bigil actress to Bollywood, while Atlee is seen clapping with a wide-eyed smile.
Now, the same video is being shared on the internet with the caption, "10 years before SRK promised and Atlee clapped for that. It all happened 10 years before and now it's come to reality! Maybe it's called hard work of Atlee!", as Shah Rukh and Nayanthara have been paired opposite each other in Jawan, directed by Atlee.
The upcoming actioner marks Atlee's Bollywood debut, who has previously helmed three back-to-back superhits with Thalapathy Vijay namely Theri, Mersal, and Bigil. It is being rumoured that Vijay will also be seen in a cameo in Jawan. Deepika Padukone also makes a special appearance in the much-awaited actioner.
Also starring Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya among others, Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film will release worldwide in theatres on September 7th, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
