The first blow of #MeToo movement in 2019, was when ace filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani was accused of sexual misconduct by an assistant director of his last directorial Sanju. However, immediately after he was accused, Hirani, denied it instantly by releasing a statement. He said, "I was completely shocked when these allegations were brought to my notice about two months back. I had suggested immediately that it is essential to take this matter to any committee or any legal body. The complainant has chosen to go to the media instead. I want to very strongly state that this is a false malicious and mischievous story being spread with the sole intention of destroying my reputation."

As per reports in a tabloid, Hirani is now being invited to be a part of FICCI Frames. The organisers seem to have looked past the whole #MeToo controversy which surrounded Hirani. Talking about the same, a source said to the tabloid, "Hirani has a clean image, and when the allegations came to light, many members of the film fraternity came out in support of him. The members of FICCI decided that until he is proven guilty, there is no harm in having him or his production house on board."

Reports have it, Rajkumar might even conduct a masterclass session at the event to be held between March 12, 2019, to March 14, 2019.

After the news broke out of Hirani being accused of sexual misconduct, many of his friends from the industry spoke in support of him.
