Actor-producer Pallavi Joshi has opened up about Naseeruddin Shah calling the success of The Kashmir Files harmful, and people criticizing her film for spreading hatred. Vivek Rajan Agnihotri's blockbuster directorial The Kashmir Files has been one of the most debated movies ever since its release. Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar-starrer have impressed the masses, but a certain section of the audience has labelled the film for spreading hatred towards a community.

Recently, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah said in an interview that the success of movies such as The Kashmir Files, The Kerala Story, and Gadar 2 is 'harmful'. This isn't the first time when Naseerudin has spoken against The Kashmir Files. While promoting her upcoming film, The Vaccine War with DNA India, Pallavi opened up about the negative criticism of her previous film. "Although we won independence, but we are still not independent. Hum aaj bade logo ko salaam karo ussi mode mein rehte hai, aur isi liye hum bahut zyada monkey-balancing karne ki koshish karte hai. Humne filmon mein bhi yehi kiya hai."

Pallavi further asserted, "The people who haven't watched the film are saying that it's promoting hatred. The first scene of our film was about little Abdul saving the life of Shiva. You don't need to underline it, these can be portrayed subtly. Even in the last scene of Darshan's speech, he said, "Not only Hindus, but Muslims, Sikhs, and many others have lost their lives in the genocide. The one who rose against terrorism died. It has nothing to do with religion." Palavi continued, "Kya politically correct hona yeh hume sikhata hai ki ek poore community ko itna brutally unhe nikal diya gaya, uske baare mein baat bhi na kare? This is something I don't understand and if this means we are spewing hatred, then I really don't know how they think."

At last, Pallavi suggested Naseeruddin to watch her film before making comments about it. "I greatly respect Naseer as an actor, but I would still like to recommend him to watch The Kashmir Files once before making such statements." Vivek and Pallavi's next bio-science film, The Vaccine War, will be released in cinemas on September 28.
