The trailer for Vivek Agnihotri's upcoming film The Vaccine War, based on India's battle with Covid-19 pandemic, was unveiled earlier this week. Touted to be India's first bio-science film, the drama features Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, Raima Sen, Girija Oak, and Sapthami Gowda in the leading roles.

Nana Patekar is coming back to films after a gap of almost 4-5 years and will be seen playing the role of Doctor Bhargava , who is responsible for creating indigineous Covid vaccine in India, in the film. The actor stole the show in the trailer and the audiences are looking forward to watch him on the screens again.

In an exclusive chat with IANS, the Welcome actor spoke about how if a film is based on a true story, there should be no discrepancy with the facts and figures. He said, "When you say it is a true story, it is based on real incidents, then we can ask certain questions from the creators because they can not take liberty with the facts. If it is a true story, everything about it should be true."

"You can see it in Bhansali's films. I was unhappy with the song Malhari. I directly called him up and said what is this 'wat laavli' . I did not like it so I said it to him. I am not bothered what the people will like or not. If I did not like it, I told him", the actor added. Nana has worked with Bhansali in the latter'd directorial debut Khamoshi: The Musical, which released 27 years back in 1996.

Set to hit the screens on September 28, The Vaccine War will clash at the box office with the comedy Fukrey 3, the third installment in the Fukrey franchise, starring Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Varun Sharma, and Pankaj Tripathi in the leading roles.
