‘Bigg Boss OTT’ contestant Urfi Javed gets linked to Javed Akhtar, wife Shabana Azmi tells the truth

Urfi Javed, an ousted competitor from 'Bigg Boss OTT', recently drew attention for her airport outfit, however, the trend quickly shifted. Urfi donned a cropped denim jacket that exposed her bra. Later, she was mocked and attacked on the internet. The trolling did not end there.

Javed Akhtar, a lyricist and screenwriter, was also dragged into the fray. He was mocked because Twitter users assumed Javed Akhtar was Urvi Javed's grandfather.

That claim, however, is absolutely incorrect. Talking to the Quint, Urfi revealed, “It's really funny that people are connecting me with Javed (Akhtar) because of my last name."

Javed Akhtar’s wife, actress Shabana Azmi also took to Twitter to clarify the claim. “Urfi Javed is not related to us in any way,” tweeted Shabana.

Urfi Javed, a 24-year-old television actress, is best known for her roles as Avni in ‘Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhania’, Aarti in ‘Meri Durga’, Bella in ‘Bepannaah’, and Mira in ‘Puncch Beat Season 2’.

Shabana, on the other hand, has lately appeared in the Disney+ Hotstar historical fiction series ‘The Empire’, which follows the founding of the Mughal empire. Kunal Kapoor, Drashti Dhami, Dino Morea, and Rahul Dev also star in the show.

Shabana will next be featured in ‘Sheer Qorma’, a short film in which she co-stars with Divya Dutta and Swara Bhasker. Faraz Arif Ansari's same-sex love storey has been screened at numerous film festivals around the world but has yet to be released in India.
