Pakistan today made several arrests in connection with the Times Square car bomb attempt in New York, a security source said.
"We have picked up a few family members" of Faisal Shahzad, chief suspect in the attempted bombing, a security officer in Karachi said. The officer declined to elaborate.
Shahzad, a 30-year-old Pakistani American, was arrested late on Monday at New York's John F Kennedy International Airport after being removed from a plane as it was about to take off for Dubai.
An intelligence officer in Pakistan said Shahzad received terrorist training in northwest Pakistan.
