Baloch Liberation Tigers (BLT), a pro-freedom group, has claimed responsibility of blowing up a gas pipeline in the Dera Bugti area in Balochistan.

According to local media, the organisation has blown up the gas pipeline near the Sui gas plant on Friday.

Mir Sarmachar Baloch, a Journalist, and human rights activist took to Twitter to write, "Baloch Liberation Tigers in a statement accepted responsibility of the deadly attack inside #SuiGas field in #DeraBugti, #Balochistan. Four DSG personnel were also killed due to massive fire after the explosion."

According to local sources, four DSG personnel were killed while two local employees were wounded due to the massive fire after the explosion. There is no official confirmation by the authorities.

Author and expert on Pakistan affairs Tarek Fatah tweeted the video of the blast.

"Video from Occupied Balochistan shows Baloch guerrillas scoring a direct hit on a gas pipeline near Sui and Dera Bugti that steals natural gas to Punjab," he wrote.

According to media reports, a similar blast took place in Sui Gas Field wherein the Baloch Liberation Army blew up a 28-inch diameter gas pipeline.

The Baloch nationalist groups attacked the gas pipeline as they blame Islamabad for exploiting their natural resources. Gas produced in Balochistan is supplied to Punjab province of Pakistan whereas people in Balochistan have no fuel for their household consumption.

It is pertinent to note that Balochistan has reserves of gas, minerals and other natural resources which Islamabad continues to exploit.
