A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck central Chile early on Sunday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said, two days after a larger quake was recorded.
Sunday's tremor was centered 16 miles (25 km) northeast of Concepcion, Chile, and was 16 miles (25 km) deep, the USGS said. On Friday, a 6.9 magnitude quake struck the area but no damages were reported.
A year ago, a 8.8-magnitude earthquake devastated the earthquake-prone region.
