A giant asteroid called 2021 NY1, which is up to three times the size of the Statue of Liberty, would enter the Earth's orbit in the coming days.

According to NASA, 2021 NY1 would enter the orbit of Earth in September. NASA is tracking this giant rock which has a diameter of 130-300m. It is to be noted that the height of Statue of Liberty is only 93 meters. This asteroid is moving towards earth at a speed of 33659 kmph.

But there is a good news that because the asteroid will not collide with Earth as it will pass Earth from a safe 930,487 miles. Notably, moon orbits Earth from a distance of 238,855 miles.

Few days ago, the findings of a study was released by US-based space agency NASA that said that asteroid Bennu could hit Earth between now and the year 2300. NASA has been tracking asteroid Bennu since 1999 and the asteroid has been deemed 'potentially hazardous' to human life by NASA.

Although Bennu is considered as a dangerous asteroid of the solar system, it is believed that that there's a miniscule chance of Bennu colliding with earth.

Meanwhile, NASA is also closely tracking another asteroid named 2021 QC1. This 160 meters long and 71 meters thick asteroid would pass more than three million miles from Earth on September 1.
